Chien-Kim-Watkins Trio
Chien-Kim-Watkins Trio
“The first of these, the Piano Trio in D Major, Op. 70, No. 1 (“Ghost”) received a superb interpretation from the ensemble. The ensemble saved the best for last – the Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 97 (“Archduke”) The Chien-Kim-Watkins Trio show exceptional command of this piece.”
“Chien is one of the foremost chamber pianists that you could hope for. Her sterling pianism and extra-sensory listening skills are the glue in the terrific chemistry of this remarkable ensemble, which played the Beethoven trios with verve.”
The Chien-Kim-Watkins Trio comprises three of classical music’s most highly esteemed artists performing today: pianist Gloria Chien, violinist Soovin Kim, and cellist Paul Watkins. The trio has been performing together since 2019 and has become a highly sought-after ensemble known for their exciting programming, including Beethoven’s complete Piano Trio Cycle.
